Good game, only problem for me currently is that no matter what way I put the code in (I have literally tried everything), it just won't open, perhaps i'm missing something, perhaps a button to click once you have the right code

Message me on twitter. I’ll help you with the code puzzle

[SPOILER] Two pics give you codes to input but they are not along the same down line so the first pic you see will have the first 3 numbers on the far left row going down then the other pic will show two numbers that go on the bottom of the second line going down then you just flick the last remaining horizontal line untill it clicks this was a cool idea and took me awhile to work out myself

I know that one, but like I said, I have tried everything. Nothing would work

would you be ok with us extracting and viewing the assets made? if so what version of UE4 are you using?
im not looking to steal your content i just would love to get a closer look at the models since its kinda hard in game

No spoiler review abstract: Don't choose Regular Mode

The game have great mechanics and graphics, but i couldn't finish it. I played in the regular mode and got stuck in two parts, the card memory and the factory door. I didn't know if i missed a character commentary about that thing on the pc table, whitch turns out to be the camera card plug in. It took ages to get to this thing, the objective was to find a tunnel or gap to get in Greenstone Cave, i walked around the map countless times, found two secret caves in the way, but at the end i watched a gameplay to proceed. When i got the pliers was the same thing, forgot the factory's door and ran straight to the lake cabin, grabbed the rod and fished 8 times, didn't know what to do, was too stressed to walk up the map again and watched the gameplay. The factory encounter was the icing on the cake to me, the stealth didn't work out, he saw me miles away by his back and I looked like a cockroach running across the train yard trying to find the right path,  besides he hit me through a wall. I laughed when I read the description, it says the game takes 60-90 minutes, when i spent 3 hours on it. Oh, don't get the point of the Fox Gump that chases you down before you can defend yourself against it and the big Siren Head's show up, not so big because we all know him, but didn't give me the creppy of "He is watching me among the trees" or he is chasing me but i can't quite see him, instead it is more like "The prey sees the hunter but the hunter do not see the prey". His cutscene and his animation of jumping off did break the horror to me, because of the prey and hunter thing, and when he jumps, looks like he is running away from the player. I think that if he would have showed up in the forest, at night, i probaly would had a heart attack. So what could have helped me to find my way out the frustation i got, without the hint mode, could be a checklist at the journal, for example, i see the factory's door BANG, appears "Got to find someway in" and maybe a picture/print of the door, got the camera BOOM, "Have to upload its card", i think it also may be a better way to check your notes instead of seek information through logs. But i really enjoyed the mechanics, they are very cool to mess with, additive to the game, very fluid and immersive, besides the graphics and enviroment, whitch i don't need to talk about it. The camp is full with story, a pretty good one, the gameplay is just awesome. In conclusion, pretty damn great game, really happy to get the opportunity to enjoy such a quality work, you did a great job, maybe after a break i will re-play it with the Assist Mode to see the end.

Thanks for giving the game a fair chance. If you found it difficult to continue and even journal can’t help you, there is a guide available for everyone. Also feel free to contact me on twitter.

I am at the same place, I can not figure out how to get to Greenwood. My compass is pointing me to the watchtower which has nothing in it.

I was really enjoying it until now, I can't tell if it's a bug or I'm just missing something.

Either way, guess I'm out, don't feel like playing a game that requires looking up a guide.

Hi there, great game just wondering if you'd ever consider doing a multiplayer version? can't wait to see what else you decide to do.

(+1)

Not me but IGP played the game.

Great playthrough. Must recommend to everyone who is interested in game.

(+1)

Me encantó tu juego. Siren head lleno de puzzles, es largo y entretenido. Muchas cosas que ver y explorar.

Hello, Awesome game you've created. What programming language would you recommend for someone who aspires to develop their first game?

(1 edit) (+2)

Thanks.

Definitely go for something lightweight. The most you can do without the code. Unreal Engine and Unity are both great. You can spent more time on creation rather than technical part. It can be discouraging spending most of the time learning how to do a simple thing without any real progress in the project itself.

Start with something small like walking simulators.
Unless you are also experienced artist try to get as much as possible from available assets free or paid. Please just don't use demonstration levels. It's disrespectful to the author of the assets and generally not original. As you will work with the tool you will get familiar with it and maybe made something more complex later on.

Most important part is actually finishing it. Even if it is not 100% as you wanted it to be (it will never be :)) just release it.

As for a language I am using C++ but because my real job is a programmer, I code on a daily basis and I started coding a long time ago. TBH I will not recommend doing a game in it especially if it is the first game. For graphical part, only when you need some custom rendering. I am using GLSL/HLSL/Metal for shaders based on the target platform.

Just use the language you are the most familiar with and feel the most comfortable in.

My personal recommendation for starting game developer is:
UE + Blueprints + Template Project.
You can do amazing things even using only blueprints in UE.

(+1)

Thank you so much for the info. You are a legend! I will try to put it to good use.

are you planning to make steam version of siren head resurrection

(+3)

Not right now. I would most probably need to get Trevor Henderson's approval for such a big store as Steam and contacting  Trevor is almost impossible (I tried for almost 6 months).
Another thing is when you are releasing a game on steam you need to pay a distribution fee. My game is for free and steam does not support any type of donations for supporting the developer.

But there are definitely some steam features that I would like to integrate into the game.

(+2)

ok cool good luck hope for the best

Is there any alternative way of downloading this game? Because every single time I try to download this game, it keeps giving me too many failed network errors to the point it then tells me the download is forbidden.

(+1)

No itch.io only.

But itch had issues for past few days, I hope everything will be up and running soon.

(+1)

That was cool. :) 5/5

I am glad you like it.

When I came across the big cave with the boulder in, The game said I could interact with it, but I haven't been able too? I really like the game though!

Do you mean a big boulder blocking the tunnel in Game Plus?

(1 edit)

It might be, i downloaded the game yesterday and there was a tunnel near the old house with a big boulder in it, I'm also really stuck on the box code, i think i know what to do but i dont want to spoil it for anyone here

Oh yeah… This boulder is related to something else, no spoilers :) Feel fee to contact me on twitter if you won’t be able to progress further.

Thank you!

un juego muy interesante,  una historia excelente. quizás con algunos problemas técnicos pero asumo que es mi pc.

Unfortunatelly some very nice UE4 graphical techniques used in the game are really expensive.  Without sacrificing visuals I can’t optimize more.

It can be really frustrating especially nowadays when GPUs are expensive and really hard to find.

You can still setup the visuals based on the game “Performance Guide”. The biggest boost in performance without sacrificing too much of visuals is by setting the Lighting from High to Medium (around 15%). In combination with Medium foliage you can can get almost 20% fps difference.

I am able to play it on High settings, 1080p 60fps with occasional drops to 50fps for demanding areas on my 5yo GTX1070.

(1 edit)

my 8 gbs of ram with a gtx660 cant run it im trying to see what i can do because this game is preety good, and i mean i can run the game but when i look at the forest it goes about 19-18 fps

Recently I was considering to make a graphically less demanding version without high end effects but first I need to test if it is still possible to keep it graphically decent and support wide range of hw at the same time. It will took some time to modify and also some additional testing if everything still works correctly.

Right now I can’t promise anything but I will try to take a look into it

Hey there,

I know you've received comments about your game. The archive (zip) has some header errors and it's either corrupt or something is going wrong during the upload to Itch. I've tried 4 times to redownload it and it still occurs. You might want to look into it.

(+1)

I downloaded/tested/extracted/start the game just now and everything works fine for me. I tired to download it using browser and Itch app. I am using butler to upload the game so upload process will fail in case of any error. Thank for the info anyway.

If you are still experiencing download issues, try to download the game using Itch app.

I'm sorry you're having trouble downloading the game. Please try again tomorrow. If the problem persists, try contacting itch.io for connection issues.

Deleted 1 year ago

I am glad to hear that. If you like the game, be sure to try the game plus mode. It's more challenging and there are several bonus areas.  Also true/secret ending are really interesting.

Hola, como lo puedo instalar? lo descargue pero se queda en winRAR y cuando lo quiero extraer me da un error):

The game is compressed by the itch.io site so try to download the game again. I tried to download it now and the file is OK

(1 edit) (+1)

Hello! Is this game in Spanish language? Greetings

I am sorry. English only for now.

(+1)

Hi there! On the zone of Silent Lake you can clip out of bouce pretty easily if you crouch and get up rapidly near the bridge. I just wanted to comment it for future patches!

Thanks I’ll check it out.

hey I would ask you if I can stream your game on twitch?

Of course you can.
Please let me know when, I would like to watch the stream.

muy pero muy wapo lo único, es que le pusieras mas optimización .lo demás esta wapisimo

(+1)(-1)

dude this would make a absolutely DOPE game if you made it multiplayer

Thanks.
I've been getting a lot of multiplayer requests lately. I will definitely take this into account in future projects

(+1)

I mean either way it's an amazing game. I wasn't tryin to seem like it would only be good if it was multiplayer. it's actually probably the best indie game I've played. you definitely did a good job on this project, I'm impressed.

Thank you, I really appreciate it

i just made a vid on it. it was very fun even tho it was confusing at times.
(1 edit)

Thanks for playing. The game is mostly not linear and a little cryptic at the beginning so journal is your best friend. If you are not sure what to do next, check you journal and read some entries. First part of the game is more puzzle oriented, second part is action oriented.

Your discoveries in the first half of the game strongly influence the ending.

I'm stick in that secret cave under the old house and I don't know how to get out. I've already gotten upstairs, and I've seen BetaHunter on youtube go through it with the secrets but I didn't see how he opened the wall upstairs. What should I do?

Message me on Twitter (@ushowmore) if you did not figure that out

what is the code for the lunchbox

Code is unique for every new game. It's part of the puzzle you have to figure out.

(1 edit)

ik but im completly clueless on what it is. and no YT video I'm seeing is helping. like is there math involved

(1 edit)

If you are struggling with this puzzle, message me on Twitter (@ushowmore).

(1 edit)

about how long whould you say the game is?

(2 edits)

It's about an hour long for a single playthrough. It might took longer for the first time tho. Playtime also depends on achieved ending and whether you play regular or game plus mode (additional 15-20 minutes).

Finding secrets extends playtime even more.

Here is my collection of all the Endings, Secrets and Major Achievements! I Hope you enjoy and find this guide useful! :D

Great video.

Very impressive open-world game for a one-man team.  The Factory section was the absolute best.

I am really glad you like it.

is it multiplayer?

No. It’s singleplayer only.

Great game my friend ! Really cool horror game with cool grafic .

my gameplay as 5h00 to see  the real ending with the horloge ...

and the  the door with the hand loocker in a old mine.

but in the end  of my video ,next to the  factory train crash the siren head is getting too fast and get me all the time..the crypt is my next step in the part 3 !

Thanks for making this great fan game, bravo.

this  is one of my favorite game with slender men  Official game.

8/10

Only the frame rate and a minor bug of collision are .....

the rest is totally top !

Sorry for my english ,am Portugues.

good job !

Look for my part 1 and 2 in this link:

(1 edit)

Thank you and also congratulation on ending.  I suppose you've already figured out the stage after the train.

(-2)

Thanks for the tip,but I have another question ? Could you tell me just what to do in (LOST IN THE VALLEY), because when I get to watchtower after I have killed siren head with the train I can't know what to do when the man on the radio tells me to hide.. But where?? I've died about 50 times.This moment is too hard! You could just give me the hint of that moment. Thanks since ja !

Message me on twitter

Really enjoyed this. Great graphics, atmosphere, story telling, and cut scenes and the hostile animals added a constant sense of danger. Only gripes are didn't like the door opening mechanic and we got stuck. Can't find the watch tower key or the lock box code. Excellent work.
(+1)

Amazing! This is by far one of, if not the best Siren Head game I have seen so far!

The graphics, art-style and open world map-design are simply beautiful, it can however bee a bit taxing on the gameplay. The audio too, my god it is well made, and most of all the voice acting, even your own haha.

But what really shines through in this game, is the story, the gameplay and gameplay mechanics. The story is so filled with hidden lore and references to in-game secrets that are actually really hard to find! If you care to read into it, you can really get a sense of the bigger picture! And then there is the gameplay, which is filled with some pretty hard puzzles, that can be solved by once again reading into the story, utilizing your collected objects and reading into things, I love it! And the hidden secrets and easter-eggs really seal the deal for me! it is very obvious that you have purred hours and love into this project, so much attention to detail is visible even for the player that just wants to complete the game!

Because of this, I give you 10/5 stars ;) (If I could!). I can not wait to see your future updates and projects! I expect much from you!

-BH

Congrats on finding the secretes. There are still other secrets to discover but you did a really good job. Hope you like your new weapon.

New weapon? Is there a new weapon? :D

(-3)

It's the siren game again

(+1)

I can see potential in this, it needs a lot of polishing, especially with how frequent I get stuck in holes, trees, and it softlocks my game and needs to be reloaded, other times when I die, the Load button doesn't work and I have to go to the main menu first - the framerate would be nice if I could control and limit the maximum in the options, the brightness in areas is either nice and lit, or extremely dark when facing the opposite direction of the sun. Otherwise, I have to get further for when things clearly, probably get more tense - I like the 'Secrets' having Stat-boost capabilities like a little mini RPG mechanic, makes me want to hunt them all down to see the benefits.

Lastly, I deeply question why a tiny little skittish creature known as a Red Fox, whom often weigh around 10-20lbs, is placed in the game and capable of killing you, let alone it attacks and bites your ankles to death with similar ferocity of a hungry Crocodile - I deeply question this decision, why a Fox?? They're so skittish and don't attack humans lol. Otherwise, here is my gameplay as I delve deeper into it.

(+2)

I watched the video and I like it.  Yes the settings sometimes does not catch up in the game menu  (but should work in the game). You get into gameplay pretty fast. You miss the cabin door journal entry at the beginning so it got really hard (and dark) for you. Also feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the game.

I've never got stuck into a tree, but I can imagine how frustrating it can be, but I fixed the hole above the cave  (some collision issues so I regenerate it)

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the death/load issue...

The game is using auto-exposure aka eye adaptation to simulate bright/dark environment changes. There is nothing I can do about it without breaking some of the game mechanics. I hope the flashlight will help you.

Lets talk about the foxes :D. The foxes in the area I live in are pretty sneaky beasts. Even the dogs are afraid of them (but as you might discover not all of them are hostile).

Update is uploading.

(+1)

I go back to the cabin and 'figure it out' in the 2nd Part which'll come tomorrow. Maybe the Death/load issue is frame-rate related? I have a 240hz monitor and maybe it causes issues. Foxes are definitely sneaky little bastards, they'll steal your bait, eat the mice, eat anything that can fit in their mouth really.

A question about updates, if I were to update and replace my files, would my Save and Secrets be kept?

(+1)

The save/secrets files are stored outside the game folder (same location as other applications store their files). I tried to make the save files as robust as possible so updating won't break them.

Also I hope you are using itch application to update the game (90MB update vs. 6GB web full download)

Update is online btw.

(1 edit) (+1)

Another thing I'd like to suggest if you could figure it out, is anyone with SteamVR downloaded, any game that uses Unreal Engine will automatically presume the game is VR-enabled unless you find where in the UE code is in the game and tell it that it is Not a VR game, every UE dev needs to manually turn off the option of it thinking its' a VR game so that SteamVR doesn't pop up every single time the game launches. You can't turn SteamVR off or it closes the game, it likely consumes resources by turning on even if not even being used.

If you could do that, that'd also be hugely appreciated.

(+2)

Thanks for the info. I did not know it is enabled by default. I’ll check it out.  You can use “-nohmd” startup parameter till next update.

(+1)

Please let me know if the steamvr issue is fixed. Also make sure you have the latest update installed.
