Forest Loop
A downloadable game for Windows
Short game idea for JamSepticeye
The theme for Jamsepticeye is Death is an Opportunity!

This is a very early prototype of multi layer quest based horror adventure. This project was very ambitious for 5 days development cycle so I have to cut some corners. Some unfinished content was removed from the preview build.
There are many things to improve, for now try out the game and have some fun with it.
- only general animations
- short task descriptions, possible typos
- no translation, only English language
- some bugs here and there
- not optimized, stronger HW recommended
- saving is highly experimental, do not rely too much on it
- some areas feels empty
Why not SUBMITTED in Game Jam?
Due to a bug in Development Environment packaging system, I was not able to prepare the build on a time and spent last 5 hours fixing the issue. Total development time was 5 days, 3 hours 40minutes.
Unfortunately submissions were already closed by the time the game was successfully packaged.
After some days I decided to publish the game preview anyway, outside the game jam, just to share what I was able to create during those 5 days.
Gameplay
- player is allowed to try 3 different approaches to resolve the same situation
- death will end every attempt and player will start the story again from the beginning with opportunity to change the things a little
- every new attempt will also result in a small permanent change
- experience ends after collecting all the necessary items
- most of the tasks have visual indicators in form of a waypoint
- fall damage is disabled for preview version
- game uses physically based movement system, some areas will be harder to pass through

Bruh Preboards.. and boards, I am trying to record, i recorded but audio got corrupeted, I will make it after exams
Should I Upload the walkthrough on youtube or wait for new updates and game to finally complete? your choice :)
You can definitely upload it now. I don't think I will be able to submit any major updates for next few months. Even that will be mostly something closed to gather more feedback.
Current version uploaded here on itch.io will be mostly something like an intro which will serve as play-style selection. After that the game will continue the story in a way the player find the most suitable.
Right now it's not as readable as I was originally planning, but the deadline was tough, and I have to cut some stuff out.
After a week or so, I still had a lot of ideas so I decided that I will not finish it just as a short but try to make something more polished and more complex instead.
k... if my walkthrough gets popular it will also increase popularity on the game wont forget to add the link to the game in desc :)
Well it’s the end of the demo. It’s just a short I’ve done in one week during game jam. It’s mostly proof of concept now, but I am working on some possibilities where to move the story. I got some ideas but it will took some time until next update
bruh i spent 4 hours trying to figure out what i iam doing wrong 😂😂😂 its ok, its a good game.

Q: "Who are you?"
A: Choose A or B - affects different part of the game
Q: "You are getting pretty tired, but there is some stuff that needs to be done"
A: "I'm going to sleep, I know I can do it tomorrow..."
Q: "Your friend asked you to help him with moving into his new house."
A: "I can’t today, I have a migraine"
Thanks
Thanks, I don’t want to jinx it, but I have so much ideas for this project.
Surely one week is not enough to create something complex, but it somehow got the ball rolling and now I am just writing down one idea after another
So show-more has done it again? First SHR game and now this? Show-more is one of the best game developers i have ever seen. Played SHR too, now will play this game Absolute GOAT Developer show more
Hi, first of all thank you for this experience! This game was on a whole other level. I didn't expect it to be so deep and unique. Also visually amazing and beyond impressive you did it on your own. I really hope to see more updates to it in the future - the potential is huge! :) P.S. Consider listing it on YT officially, because it wasn't there.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed playing the preview. It's still in a very early stage of development and I hope I'll have a chance to improve it.
Today I'm releasing a bugfix update, nothing major, just some missing textures and models that got lost during the packaging process.
Unreal Engine can be a little buggy and unstable sometimes. The development was a bit crazy, I tried to finish as much as possible in those 5 days. There are definitely things I'd like to add in the future.
Sure, I'm aware it's a very early release, and I mentioned it in the video too, but it really was incredible nonetheless. As a regular player I only noticed a couple of bugs and everything else was awesome. But I loved the concept of it the most! Looking forward to your future work, whether this one or something new entirely. Will donate what I can first thing tomorrow to support
